International Development Conference: Angles 2020

The International Development Conference is a one-day interdisciplinary conference held at the University of Toronto’s Scarborough Campus. ACCESS will be leading a workshop on February 8.

International Development as a field is rife with contention and disagreement, as divergent approaches and conflicting conceptions of what “development” entails clash with each other. To truly understand the fault-lines within development practice and theory, one must first deconstruct an ever-expanding web of visions of what development is. No single issue in development exists in a void. Rather, every issue in the field finds itself the subject of several different and conflicting lines of thought.

In light of the renewed importance of the dialogue between different views of development, the International Development Conference 2020 will explore the different “Angles” from which development is viewed.

This year’s conference will be held at the University of Toronto’s Scarborough Campus on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

Our Workshop on Building Your Own Organization

In addition to panels oriented around the theme, International Development Conference features workshops designed in partnership with organizations including ACCESS, to expose delegates to particular aspects of development.
